Today the countertops were installed.  They're Cambria New Quay Quartz.  We went with Quartz since it's very durable and highly resistant to staining so it should be hassle free for a long time to come.

Today was the final full day of work.  The house is 99% done, but we're still missing the counters, front door handle, and some little things. I tried to take a lot of pictures since the house will likely never be this empty again!t

Today is the start of week 12.  They should be done on Wednesday just making their Thanksgiving deadline.  They installed some outside lights, laid the floor in our room and part of the closet, grouted some of the tiles, mounted furnace vent covers, and more.  The grout is still wet so it will lighten up quite a bit.

Today is the end of week 11.  We're not done yet, but getting closer.  The contractors finished the floors everywhere except the master bed and closet.  They also installed the quarter-round moldings, mounted mirrors in the master bath, and mounted the TV.  The electrician installed more lights.  The plumbers installed the water softener, washer and dryer, and a temporary kitchen sink since out counters won't be here for another two weeks.  The guy did come to measure for the counters today so hopefully we won't run into any issues.

Today they got a lot done.  The new electric service was finally installed so we've got lights throughout the house again.  The contractors worked on the floors more and are probably more than half done.  The plumbers were back and installed two toilets, some of the shower, and the hot water heater.  Another team was here to install a storm door.  It doesn't look as nice with the storm door, but we like being able to leave the front door open so we can see outside.  The appliances are back in the kitchen so we'll have a fridge and range soon.  The dishwasher will have to wait until the counters, sink, and garbage disposal are in.

Today the painters finished up just about everything.  They're still waiting for the old electric to be disconnected and the new one to get hooked up so they can finish one of the walls inside.  Hopefully that will happen tomorrow or Friday at the latest.  The contractor started installing the new wood floors which look nice and will really make it look like we're almost there.

Today the contractor was here to deliver the new floor.  Another guy started on the shower grout before the contractor realized that it wasn't the right color.  He had purchased "smoke" from one company which was brown instead of "smoke grey" from another company which is supposed to be grey.  So I helped remove the brown grout which wasn't terrible since it was still wet.  Hopefully it doesn't stain the tile though.

The painters finished the two bedrooms and most of the living room and kitchen.  They also painted the quarter rounds which will be installed after the floor.  They'll be back tomorrow to finish up.

The electrician was here installing lights.  We're still running off of the old service because our electrical inspector apparently has trouble filing filing paperwork on time.  Hopefully that will happen soon!

Today was the start of Week 11.  This is supposed to be the final week although I'm guessing it'll go into next week.  The painters seem to have worked on the trim in the Kitchen and the fireplace, but tough to tell what else.

Today is the end of week 10.  The painters rehung all of the doors and the new vanity was installed on top of the new floor.

Today the contractors packed up there things and cleared as much out of the house as possible so that the painting crew can be here working for the new few days.  They'll get all of the painting done and then everyone will be back for the second half of next week to finish things up.

Today was a little slower.  The electrician was here and we now have some working lights which run off the old service.  The new service still isn't connected but hopefully soon.  The contractors finished the fireplace tile and the tile in the bathroom.  The painters will be here the rest of the week to get everything painted and in good shape.

Today was more tile work everywhere.  The contractors worked on tiling the bathroom floor, kitchen, and fireplace.  The stone guys also came back to finish up by the front door.

Today was the start of week 10. This morning, a guy from Erie came to paint the guest bath tub. It used to be a faint pink color and now it's white. The picture isn't great because of the flash but it looks really good.  The contractor finished the fireplace trim so it's ready for painting and tile. They also poured a floor leveler in our bathroom so they can start on the tile floor in there. One of the painters was here working on prepping everything, filling nail holes, sanding, etc.

Tomorrow sounds like a big tile day and the week will wrap up with everything getting a final coat of paint and the floors going in early next week.

Today was the end of week 9.  With the exception of the countertops which will be late, everything else should be done within two weeks.  The counter tops will likely be a week or two later.  Not ideal but not terrible.  Today the contractors worked on the shower tile, the kitchen trim, and the fireplace.  The painters were here caulking the trim and doors so they can be painted soon.

The kitchen cabinets were delivered this morning are mostly installed this evening.  The electrician hooked up the new main lines to panel so they should be good to power it up soon.  None of the breakers are in yet though.  There was more tile work in the shower so that's coming along and looking really good.

There was a lot of good progress today.  The front door was installed and looks really good.  The trim and inside doors are just about complete and the tile work started in the bathroom.  Tomorrow the kitchen cabinets should be delivered.

Today was more windows and trim.  The electrician was back and run the cables to connect the new breaker panel to the utilities so we should start getting the new electric service soon.  The gutter people were here to move the offsets and they look a bit better now too.

Today was the start of week 9.  The contractor was back and working on doors and trim.  They should have it finished by Wednesday or Thursday and then will start on the kitchen.

Unfortunately, the contractor was tied up at another job so there weren't any changes for these three days.

Today was the end of week 7.  The painters got started and painted just about every room.  The gutter installers also stopped back to replace their angled downspouts with some offsets that I bought.  Unfortunately, they installed them way too high so while they look better, it's still not right.

Almost without fail, any time I write that something is supposed to happen tomorrow, it doesn't happen.  Anyway, today was more drywall work and then the poured the shower base and fixed up half of the closet floor.  The contractor delivered some of the tile today for the kitchen and bathroom but we're still a little ways from needing that.

I take pictures of the front of the house every day and today I realized that it's actually pretty much done.  With the exception of the front door, the outside of the house is pretty much finished.  So that's exciting!

The stone is done!  Almost...there's a small section at the front door that they can't do until the front door is replaced, but other than that, it's up and looks really nice.  The drywall is pretty close to done and the painting crew is supposed to start tomorrow with a coat of primer and one coat of paint.  I believe they'll then come back closer to the end of a second coat of paint.

Today was another slow one.  The stone guys are getting close to being done.  The guy working on the drywall was here for a bit and sanded things, but it doesn't look done yet, so I'm guessing they're not starting to paint tomorrow like they were going to originally.

Today was the start of week 7 and was a pretty slow day.  The contractor's guy did a little more work on the drywall and the stone guys worked more on the chimney.

Today was the end of week 6.  More drywall work and electrical inside and the stone guys made more progress outside.  The landscape crew was here again trying to deal with the flood in the yard but there probably isn't anything we can do until spring unfortunately.

Next week we'll be finishing the stone, finishing the drywall, painting and trim.  Hopefully things will start coming together pretty quickly now.  We should be 60% of the way there!

Today was more stone work, drywall finishing, and electrical work.

Today the finished the driveway by adding the asphalt end which buts up to the road and by finishing all of the saw cuts.  It looks really good and should be very nice.  Because it's getting colder, they don't want any vehicles on it until the end of the month.  They're also concerned about getting the dumpster out in a month, so we'll see.

The electrician was here again working on the panel and mounting more recessed lights.  And the drywall is still a work in progress.

Today the concrete crew was here and poured the last section of concrete.  They'll still have to come back to install the blacktop between the end of the driveway and the street and then it will be finished.  We have to keep all vehicles off of it for 10 days which would be Friday, Oct. 25th.  Then normal vehicles can drive on it, but no really heavy vehicles for at least 30 days, so November 15th.

The landscaping crew was here and got everything cleaned up and hydroseeded.  We should still be able to get some grass to grow before winter.  I was planning on doing the landscaping myself, but once I realize just how much dirt we needed, I realized there was no way.

The stone crew was here again and made more progress including starting on the chimney. They also poured the caps to the front pillers so we'll see how that turns out.  A gutter crew was here and installed gutters and gutter guards.  I'm not crazy about how they did the downspouts around the stone though.  The electrician was here and mounted the new meter box outside and the new panel inside, so we should be getting close to having some functioning electricity again.  Currently, there's only an outlet or two that still runs off of the old service.

The contractor and one of his guys was here.  They worked on painting the outside trim and taping the new drywall.
