Lake Renovation: Day 5

Today was the end of week one.  The roofers have almost finished the new shingles, there's just a bit more to go.  The concrete guys weren't here today so no more progress on that front.  The contractor's guys were inside and gutted the kitchen, master bathroom and laundry areas.  They found some questionable wiring from the most recent kitchen remodel.  They also found an area of the floor in the dinning room that was rotten.  They swapped out the dumpster today so I managed to get a shot of the house when the dumpster was gone.  Some of the guys will be back for a bit tomorrow to finish cleaning up.  They'll finish demoing on Monday.  The new windows and doors go in next week.  The siding will start on the following Monday and then the stone will be right after that.  So that's the end of week one.

Lake Renovation: Day 4

We had some rain overnight and a little more today, so the contractor's team moved inside while the roofer's continued on the road side of the house and the concrete team worked on the back patio.

Lake Renovation: Day 3

Day 3.  The roofers finished the lake side singles and are starting on the street side now.  Our contractor and his guys finished removing the old wood siding, put up 2 ft. of sheeting all the way around the house for the stone, and then started on the new front entrance.  The patio guys continued to build up the patio area in the back, including burying some gutter downspout drains and then started on the front entrance which will have a new larger concrete slab.  Nothing new inside.

Lake Renovation: Day 2

On Day 2, they worked on removing more of the exterior and the walls in the second inside bedroom.  The concrete crew spent the day excavating the area for the new patio and the roofers got some of the new shingles installed.  The old red cedar siding was removed from most of the exterior to make way for the new siding.

Lake Renovation: Day 1

Today was day one. They worked on stripping the old siding, roof, and one of the rooms inside. The roof decking is in good shape, but we did find that there was almost no insulation in the exterior walls.
